Woman in Joliet double murder gets life sentence
A 20-year-old woman has been sentenced to life in prison for her role in a grisly double murder in Joliet last year.
Bethany McKee was handed the mandatory sentence on Tuesday. A judge found her guilty in August in the deaths of Eric Glover and Terrance Rankins, both 22. The victims were found strangled in a home with plastic bags over their heads in January 2013.
On Monday, Will County Judge Gerald Kinney denied McKee's attorneys' motions for a new trial.
Twenty-six-year-old Joshua Miner also was convicted in the crime. His sentencing is set for later this month.
Another suspect, 21-year-old Adam Landerman is awaiting trial, while 20-year-old Alissa Massaro pleaded guilty to robbery and concealment of a homicidal death in exchange for a 10-year prison sentence.
