Toews on Blackhawks' woes: We'll keep working through it

As far as Jonathan Toews is concerned, the Blackhawks' scoring woes of late - including a 1-0 shutout Sunday against Winnipeg - isn't from a lack of effort or confidence. Rather, it's just one of those hockey things.

"It's not like guys are lacking confidence. We're attacking with speed; we're getting shots," Toews said. "We had some great shifts (Sunday) where they couldn't get out of their end and then the next line would come out and follow that up.

"We'll keep working through it."

The good news is the Hawks have outshot opponents in 10 of 12 games. The bad news is of their 27 goals, more than half (14) have come against just three teams.

"It's real easy to get frustrated and get ticked off, but we've got to try and use our experience," Toews said. "We've been through moments like this before. It's early in the season, and it's something you've got to tell yourself to get it out of your system now, and when we do get out of it, we'll be a better team because of it."

Happy homecoming:

Perhaps the happiest man in the land Sunday night was former Blackhawk Michael Frolik, who provided the only scoring in Winnipeg's 1-0 victory.

"It's always very special when you come here," Frolik said. "I think I had the best memories from my hockey career here - everyone is so nice here, and I will always love coming here.

"It's a great memory."

He said it:

"They have a lot of skilled players, right? If you give them a lot of time and space, they're going to make a lot of great plays. If you're physical on those guys, they might think twice about stickhandling or making that play."
