Move into a new era

The Cantieris need your help in moving us into a new era. Our living room furniture and style is from when we first got married in 1996. It has survived three boys who are now 8, 11 and 13 years old.

The room is currently a snapshot of our previous life - juice and marker stains on the couch, gashes in the coffee table for toys and carpet to prevents slips and falls. One of the chairs is even missing an arm.

The long, narrow space is not being utilized as well as it should. It needs to evolve into a more comfortable place for our family to spend time together and entertain guests. Our living room is the first impression of our home and we need your help in making it an amazing one!

The room has a very formal, Victorian look. With the lifestyle of the couple have changed over the years, it would be nice to have a little less formal space and make it more functional while still keeping in mind this is the first impression of the home.

• A sectional can often times add extra seating, a more casual feel but when it is combined with a nail-head detail and upholstered fabric chairs the formal style shows through.

• With the kids getting older and the need for additional seating with a TV may be a need. The console table can also double as a TV console for down the road.

• The bookcase behind the sectional can also hide the extra toys and games that the kids may still have. Decorative boxes can also be added to hold extra toys that they may want to hide inside the bookcase.

• By anchoring the two chairs in the window you are framing out and utilizing the maximum amount of space with in the room

A sectional provides plenty of causal seating for people to visit, while the bookcase behind the sectional gives the homeowner a place to stash games and toys.
This living area has seen better days and the homeowner is looking to have the space more conducive to family time.
