Harvest Christian boys, girls make state

Boys at Lisle: Harvest Christian finished fourth at the Class 1A Lisle sectional to qualify as a team for the state meet. The Lions had 168 points. Westmont won with 118, while Montini, Beecher and Peotone also qualified as teams. Senior Jake Adams finished 11th in 17:29 to lead Harvest. (Sophomore Riley Steiner (26th), junior Caleb Vislisel (35th), sophomore Michael Sisko (41st) and freshman Andrew Debresco (55th) also scored for the Lions. Aurora Christian sophomore Tanner Chada won the race in a time of 16:17.

Girls at Lisle: Harvest Christian scored 108 points to finish third at the Class 1A Lisle sectional and advance to the state meet next Saturday in Peoria. Senior Valerie Richter and freshman Nygla Pollard finished in fifth and sixth place respectively to lead the Lions. Freshman Rachel Higbee was 14th, freshman Rayna Steiner 32nd and sophomore Hayleigh Newman 51st. Chicago Christian won the team title with 81 points. Westmont, Clifton Central and Willows Academy were the other team qualifiers. Gardner South Wilmington sophomore Daly Galloway was the individual champion in a time of 18:37.
