60-plus scholarships offered at MCC

Current and prospective McHenry County College students may apply for any of the 60-plus scholarships available for the 2015 spring semester. The scholarships are offered by the Friends of McHenry County College Foundation.

The scholarships vary in amount and type of award and include those based on need, merit and/or program of study.

In addition to several general scholarships available, several specialized scholarships are available in the following categories: alumni, anthropology, art, athletics, business, construction management, culinary, diversity/cultural diversity, education/early childhood education, fire science, EMT, first generation, fitness/fitness training, GED, graphic arts, healthcare, horticulture/plant science, humanities, journalism/writing, manufacturing/manufacturing engineering, nursing, science and mathematics, special needs, and women in college.

The scholarship application deadline is 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3.

Applications must be signed, dated and returned to the foundation office in Room A209 at the college, at 8900 Route 14 in Crystal Lake. Applications cannot be submitted online.
