With Crawford's return, Hawks sent Darling to Rockford

The battle for the Blackhawks backup goalie spot has been won by Antti Raanta.

For the time being, at least.

The Hawks on Friday reassigned Lemont native Scott Darling to Rockford, leaving Raanta as the backup to Corey Crawford, who is expected to be back in net Saturday night in Toronto. Crawford had been sidelined with an upper body injury.

Darling, 25, didn't make the decision an easy one, posting a 2-1-0 record with a .933 save percentage and an 1.98 goals-against average in three consecutive starts.

Raanta is 1-2 with a .933 save percentage and a 2.03 GAA.
