Vehicles hit by pellet gun on Chicago expressway

The Illinois State Police say at least three pellet gun shootings were reported along a Chicago section of the Eisenhower Expressway within a 24-hour period.

A motorist told police he heard shots Thursday evening before his passenger window shattered. Another driver said she heard pops around the time Thursday and also noticed her passenger window had shattered.

Dr. Brad Schubert of Rush Medical Center told police he has three holes in his passenger window after his car was hit during rush hour on Wednesday. He said he heard sounds similar to when rocks fly up from a truck and hit a car's hood or windshield.

Police are talking to another driver involved in a fourth potential incident Wednesday evening.

Authorities will continue to investigate.
