Harper women's soccer players net postseason acclaim

A solid group of Harper College women's soccer players were recently rewarded for solid seasons by earning all-conference and all-region honors.

Freshman goalie Nicole Soderholm (Buffalo Grove) and freshman forward Danielle Reptowski (Schaumburg) were named first team all-region and all-conference, while teamates Kassidy Kushner (a freshman from Barrington) and Jillian Zelek (a sophomore from Elk Grove) were named to both second teams.

"That"s a huge thing for us," said Harper coach Dwayne Cruz.

In her first season with the team, Soderholm was a stalwart in goal. Her .807 save percentage was good for 23rd nationally.

In 15 games this season, all starts, Reptowski was one of the team leaders in shots (12). She finished with 3 goals, two of them game-winners.

Kushner, a versatile freshman, played both midfielder and defender this fall. She finished with 2 goals and an assist in 15 games.

Cruz believes good things are ahead for this group of young players.

"They were coachable," the coach said. "We look foward to having this whole group back next year."
