After they get married when same-sex unions are legalized, one loses his job, forcing the couple to live apart with family and friends. Not an ideal situation for anyone. The movie will be shown at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, at the Tivoli Theatre, 5021 Highland Ave., Downers Grove. Tickets cost $9. Go to afterhoursfilmsociety.com.

• The First Tuesdays program at the Midwest Independent Film Festival continues with the 5th annual Advertising Community Shorts Night at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, at the Century Centre Cinema, 2828 N. The film tells the true story of how Washington Post reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein (played by Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman) doggedly chase corruption leads until President Richard M. Nixon is forced to resign from office. An excellent movie that holds up nicely. Go to bwiff.com.
