Philharmonic Orchestra Performs November 1 at Trinity International University

The Community Philharmonic Orchestra of Trinity International University performs on Saturday, November 1, at 7:30 p.m. in the ATO Chapel on the Deerfield campus. Tickets are $8 for general admission, $5 for students and seniors, and may be purchased at the door or by calling 847-317-8021.

Guest conductor Robert Nordling leads this performance of the Trinity Community Philharmonic Orchestra. He serves as the Principal Conductor of the Baroque on Beaver Island Music Festival and is active as a guest conductor around the world. Critics and musicians have described his performances as passionate, intense, and vivid.

Concert highlights include Franz Schubert's "Overture in the Italian Style in D" as well as Igor Stravinsky's "8 Instrumental Miniatures." Trinity Junior Mirela Shendrya is the featured soloist on harp for Antonio Vivaldi's "Concerto No. 1 in D." The evening concludes with a performance of Ludwig van Beethoven's "Symphony No. 1."

In addition to conducting the Trinity Orchestra, Nordling is involved in training student orchestras at the high school and university levels and has also taught in the areas of music history, music appreciation, and conducting. He is an active composer and arranger.

There is a free Pre-Concert Lecture at 6:45 p.m. in the Chapel. The Deerfield campus of Trinity International University is located at 2065 Half Day Road.
