Elgin man stabbed during fight at park

A 21-year-old Elgin man was seriously injured when he was stabbed multiple times during a fight at Eagle Park yesterday afternoon. The stabbing happened just after 4:30 p.m., and the victim sustained life-threatening injuries. Full story.

Fire damages Batavia apartments

DUI suspect accused of slamming into Hoffman Estates school

A driver significantly damaged the Eisenhower Junior High School gymnasium in Hoffman Estates when he slammed into the building Saturday while trying to evade a traffic stop, police said. Woman stable after being hit by a train

A Wisconsin woman is now in stable condition after being hit by a Canadian National freight train late Saturday night, authorities said. Skyelene Karaszweski, 25, from Genoa City, was flown via helicopter to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where she was initially in the intensive care unit, police said. Full story.
