2 injured in trailer accident at pumpkin farm
Authorities say at least two people were injured when a tractor tipped during a tractor ride at a popular Southwest suburban pumpkin farm.
Will County sheriff's spokeswoman Kathy Hoffmeyer tells The Daily Chronicle in DeKalb that one adult and an unrelated 3-year-old child were taken to a hospital as a precaution.
She says the tractor and trailer carrying 12 people at Bengtson's Pumpkin Farm in Homer Glen was going down an embankment around 2 p.m. Monday when part of the trailer broke. She says the trailer tipped but did not flip over.
Hoffmeyer says the other riders declined treatment.
The farm is a popular destination for pumpkins, hay rides and food.
