Isn't Rauner accountable, too?
If Governor Quinn is held accountable for problems anywhere in the state, such as the issue of hiring at IDOT, shouldn't Mr. Rauner also be held accountable for problems at the businesses either created or run by Mr. Rauner's company?
Why aren't we hearing about his for-profit ForeFront Education that used deceptive practices to recruit students for non-accredited programs and left thousands of students in debt? (ChicagoReader.com, Oct. 20) Why aren't we hearing about Ovation Pharmaceuticals which raised prices astronomically on drugs needed to treat heart conditions in premature infants (from $36 to $500/vial, for example) after the company was purchased by GTCR, the company whose Chairman was Bruce Rauner. The FTC brought a complaint against Ovation for profiteering. (Republican News Watch, Oct. 21).
When I decide who I will vote for, it is more helpful to me to know what a candidate has done, instead of what he/she is saying. I could not trust Mr. Rauner to make decisions for the good of the people of Illinois based on the priorities of the companies, the source of his millions, under his control.
