Deadline for St. Charles' Electric Christmas Parade entries due Oct. 27

Businesses and organizations are invited to participate in the Electric Christmas Parade on Saturday, Nov. 29. The parade steps off at 5:30 p.m. on Main Street. Those interested in taking part in the parade are encouraged to return completed forms as soon as possible as the Downtown St. Charles Partnership is now accepting entries through Monday, Oct. 27.

Businesses, nonprofits, and organizations that would like to enter the parade may do so by completing the parade entry form, rules and regulations, and providing a certificate of insurance. The application fee is $250 for businesses, $125 for Downtown St. Charles Partnership member businesses, and complimentary to local nonprofits. Applications can be downloaded at downtownstcharles.org/holidays.

On Friday, Nov. 28, the Lighting of the Lights will be at 5 p.m. on the First Street Plaza.

On Saturday, Nov. 29, enjoy the free holiday movie, "The Polar Express," at 10:30 a.m. at the Arcada Theatre. There will be free horse-drawn sleigh rides on First Street Plaza from 1 to 3:30 p.m. The Visit with Santa will be 1 to 4 p.m. at the First Street Plaza, and Electric Christmas Parade on Main Street at 5:30 p.m.

All Holiday Homecoming events and activities are free.

The Downtown St. Charles Partnership is seeking volunteers for the parade day with responsibilities including parade pacers, parade marshals, and banner carriers. Those interested in volunteering for a service opportunity or to help their community, may do so by completing the volunteer form on the website at downtownstcharles.org/holidays.

Currently, sponsorship opportunities exist for a few remaining elements at Silver and Bronze levels. Organizations looking for marketing presence through the event may contact the Downtown St. Charles Partnership at (630) 443-3967.

The Electric Christmas Parade features bands, parade floats, the City Sleigh, Miss Illinois and of course special guests, Santa and his elves.
