NCH & Linden Oaks Announce Behavioral Health Services Management Agreement

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (October 22, 2014) - Northwest Community Healthcare (NCH) has entered into an agreement with Linden Oaks, a Naperville-based regional behavioral healthcare provider that is part of Edward-Elmhurst Healthcare, to manage NCH's behavioral health services.

Under the agreement, Linden Oaks will manage NCH's behavioral health services, including adult inpatient services, adolescent behavioral health and the NCH Youth Center substance abuse residential program. Individuals seeking treatment will continue to rely on NCH's behavioral health staff to provide the best holistic, patient-centered care in the community.

"This management agreement with Linden Oaks, a recognized leader in providing high quality, specialized behavioral health and chemical dependency services, underscores NCH's commitment to behavioral health patients in our community," says Steve Scogna, CEO at NCH. "Our partnership with Linden Oaks builds upon the foundation of NCH's behavioral health services."

"We're excited about this opportunity to enhance the quality behavioral health services NCH is providing to residents of the northwest suburbs," says Gina Sharp, President of Linden Oaks. "The partnership means adolescents and adults will have convenient access to a full array of services to diagnose and treat the full spectrum of behavioral health conditions and disorders."

NCH's behavioral health unit provides adult inpatient services and adolescent behavioral health programs for individuals age 12 to 18, including treatment for depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD and behavior problems. In addition, NCH's Youth Center provides the only private residential treatment program for adolescents in the Chicago area. The Youth Center offers residential treatment, day treatment and intensive outpatient treatment programs.

Linden Oaks has 45 psychiatrists and 500 employees on staff and uses a combination of inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and traditional outpatient programs to treat patients. Linden Oaks has programs for anxiety disorders, chemical dependency, addiction, depression, eating disorders, geriatric conditions and self-injury. Linden Oaks has been recognized with the Gold Seal of Approval from The Joint Commission for commitment to excellence in the treatment of addiction, anxiety care, bipolar disorders, dementia, depression, eating disorders and self-injury.

The management agreement is the latest example of how NCH is committed to working with other Illinois Health Partners (IHP) members to create innovative provider partnerships that strengthen its market position. NCH's Physician Hospital Organization (PHO) joined IHP in early 2014. Edward Hospital and DuPage Medical Group are the founding joint venture members of IHP, which was created in 2011.
