Wauconda covered in yarn

The Unraveled Yarn Shop sponsored a "yarn bomb" in Wauconda, where benches and various fixtures in the downtown area are covered in handmade yarn pieces.

The Wauconda Area Public Library held a knitting event in advance of the installation of the pieces. Several Wauconda businesses held their own knitting events for the project including Bliss Wine & Gifts and Vickie's Place. The Unraveled Yarn Shop also had a "last chance to stitch" event. Volunteers decorated the town Sunday, Oct. 19.

The items will be removed Sunday, Nov. 2, with the pieces turned into afghans and donated to those in need.
