Munger would be beholden to no one

Being a woman, I wanted to vote for a woman for state representative in the 59th District. Although I knew Mr. Mathias very well, I still voted for Democrat Carol Sente.

That was one of the biggest mistakes I've ever made. Under Sente and Democratic/one-party control the past decade, Illinois has become a financial disaster. The facts about our state are frightening. Illinois is at a tipping point with the worst job creation and credit rating, as well as the highest unfunded pension liabilities and debt in the country. One person is leaving Illinois every 10 minutes and our state ranks first in political corruption. This has to stop.

A vote for Carol Sente is a vote for Mike Madigan. Sente voted for Madigan for speaker, is funded by him and votes with him over 90 percent of the time. Carol Sente is beholden to Madigan. She voted with Madigan for the $3,100 legislative pay raise, unbalanced budgets, House Bill 2987 requiring the state to use union-only labor on state projects and House Bill 2418 creating the special Electoral Commission for Lake County.

I sincerely regret my vote in 2012 and will not make the same mistake on Nov. 4. I will be voting for the truly independent candidate who is beholden to no one, Leslie Munger. It is time to break Madigan's supermajority control once and for all. This can only be achieved by voting for Leslie Munger for state representative in District 59.
