Elgin man state's latest bust in child pornography sting

Authorities have charged an Elgin man as part of an ongoing investigation into a child pornography operation, Illinois Attorney General spokeswoman Maura Possley said Wednesday.

Jesse Hansen, 33, of the 300 block of North Street is charged with two counts of dissemination of child pornography and two counts of possession of child pornography.

"This is the 70th arrest of Attorney General (Lisa) Madigan's ongoing Operation Glass House," Possley said.

Elgin Police and the Kane County state's attorney's office helped with the bust and Hansen's arrest. Police in tactical gear had cordoned off an area of North Street between College Street and Dundee Avenue earlier in the day.

Operation Glass House, launched by Madigan in 2010, is a statewide initiative to capture the most active offenders who download and trade child pornography online.

Investigations are conducted by the state's High Tech Crimes Bureau, which has revealed a community of criminals trading and viewing extremely violent videos of children as young as infants being raped and abused.

Hansen will appear for a bond hearing Thursday morning at the Kane County Judicial Center.
