Arlington Hts. reduces hours at Heritage park center

The Arlington Heights Park District announced on Thursday that its Heritage Community Center, 506 W. Victoria Lane, will remain open to support scheduled recreation programming year-round, but with fewer hours.

The change is consistent with the district's efforts to continually seek to reduce costs and streamline operations, particularly at Heritage Park, where more than 90 percent of program participants during the fall, winter and spring months register online, officials said.

People who require face-to-face help may register in-person at the nearby Pioneer Community Center, 500 S. Fernandez Ave. between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.

"We realize this change will impact some patrons who prefer paper registrations over registering via our website," said Steve Neill, facility services manager. "For this reason, we have placed a secure drop box near the main entrance at Heritage Community Center and that will be checked daily Monday through Friday."
