Country blunder

Decorated during the height of the country phase, my living room is still stuck in that time warp. I've taken down the wallpaper but was scammed by the painting contractor and have walls that never saw two coats of paint and the primer shows through. The carpet is missing behind the pineapple-print loveseat and along the entrance to the study (another unscrupulous contractor) and don't ya'll just love the curtains? The long room is difficult to decorate around two windows and four doorways. My plan was to add a fireplace mantel between the windows with a comfy chair to read, but am now "contractor shy" and have nightmares about power saws. Please help erase the decades!

This room has great bones and with Calico's help, the reader will be well on her way to an updated space. With a budget for Calico of $3,000, we can help to transform this room out of the country and into 2014. For $3,000 we can offer in our home design service, professional measure and install, a reupholstered loveseat, two new pairs of drapery, two new sets of window hardware, and three pillows with trim.

Calico would reupholster the loveseat in an updated solid performance fabric. The neutral color will allow her to keep her existing wing chair. New drapery panels would make the biggest impact. By simply adding standing pinch pleat panels hung on rings with new updated drapery hardware, installed by our professionals, the room would be instantly transformed.

The finishing touch of pillows added to the loveseat and wing chair would unite the old with the new in an updated, wonderful space.

A solid color on the loveseat allows for it to be paired with other furtniture, and throw pillows of various designs.
