Spaghetti dinner fundraiser on Nov. 12 for special Haiti project

Jamie Schumacher, a Batavia teacher, North Aurora resident and New Hope/Nueva Esperanza Lutheran Church member, continues to be involved in very special projects, including equine therapy, with orphans and special needs children in Haiti. She has made frequent trips to Haiti, raised funds to buy the land for a special facility, and continues to serve an underserved population still suffering from the effects of devastating hurricanes in Haiti.

To support her projects, Pastor Sandy Jones' congregation of New Hope/Nueva Esperanza Lutheran Church of Aurora and Thrivent Financial Services are sponsoring a spaghetti dinner with all proceeds going to support Jamie's work in Haiti.

The dinner will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, downstairs in the fellowship hall of the Fourth Street United Methodist Church, 551 S. Fourth St. in Aurora. Special Haitian treats will be available, and Jamie will discuss some of her experiences.

Prices are $6, $4 for children, age 4-12, and $1 for children under age 1. A gluten-free meal is also available.

Tickets and additional information about the dinner are available from the church office (630) 896-0478 or office@newhopeelca.org. Visit www.newhopeelca.org.
