New Eagle Scout: Ethan Charles Witz!

On October 4, 2014, Ethan Charles Witz passed his Eagle Scout Board of Review and became Arlington Heights' latest Eagle Scout at the young age of 15!

Ethan has been an active member in Arlington Heights Troop 34 since he crossed over from Cub Scouts in 6th grade. Scoutmaster, Mark Goodmanson, encouraged Ethan to grow quickly because of the complexity of balancing a boy scout Eagle project with a rigorous AP academic schedule. Ethan listened to this advice and now, at age 15 and a sophomore at Hersey High School, he is a young Eagle Scout. He is now able to spend more time helping other scouts advance within the Troop and he is excited about the prospect of college.

Ethan worked with the Buddy Foundation, a no-kill animal shelter in Arlington Heights, for his Eagle Project. Leading several boys from the Troop, he built multiple cat towers and held a fundraising carnival where he raised over $1,500 in cash and much-needed supplies for the shelter. The Buddy Foundation is always looking for support from our community, so please help by going to www.thebuddyfoundation.org.
