Schneider works for the people

Political campaigns are so ugly today. It used to be that campaign print or TV ads would boast about a candidate's qualifications. Now, all you get is hateful lies at worst, half-truths at best. I suggest we mute the TV.

Let's do our homework and look up qualifications and/or voting records. This is important stuff. In the 10th Congressional District, I am supporting Brad Schneider for re-election. Brad has consistently supported the Affordable Care Act, standing up against attempts to repeal it. However, his opponent, Bob Dold, voted 28 times to repeal, defund or dismantle the Affordable Care Act, wasting taxpayer time and money.

Brad co-sponsored the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act. He voted against the Ryan budget. Brad was a co-sponsor of the Paycheck Fairness Act that would expand equal protections and close loopholes in the Equal Pay Act. Brad has advocated persistently for the long-term unemployed, voting to extend benefits.

If this sounds like good job performance to you, make sure we don't bring back the other guy. I strongly urge voters to re-elect Brad Schneider, a representative who works for us.
