Kids paint pumpkins, touch trucks in Libertyville

Saturday's annual Pumpkin Fest in downtown Libertyville and Cook Park is a fall tradition that provides fun activities for families, including entertainment, pumpkin painting, a food collection and crafts.

The Libertyville Junor Women's Club and local Rotary clubs provided 1,000 pumpkins to festivalgoers in exchange for a food donation to benefit the Libertyville Township Food Pantry.

In conjunction with the fest, the Cook Memorial Public Library District held its annual Touch the Trucks event along West Church Street.

Children checked out a variety of trucks, including garbage trucks, backhoes, cherry pickers, old tractors, and police and fire vehicles.
