As part of the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta, there is the Balloon Glow with hundreds of hot air balloons inflated and their burners are periodically turned on to keep them inflated during the evening hours in Albuquerque, New Mexico on October 5th. While the balloons do not fly during the Balloon Glow, the sight of all those balloons "glowing" is spectacular! Roy Lobenhofer of Mount Prospect

As summer ends and fall begins to set in, the Chicago Botanic Garden can be a great place to view the Hummingbirds as they ready themselves for the long flight south for the winter. Recently I was lucky enough to capture this female as she sat briefly, conserving her energy for her soon-to-be journey. if you look closely, you can see her eyes appear to be closed for a moment. I photographed the lunar eclipse "blood moon" yesterday morning and used a tripod using a 400 mm lens. As dawn broke and the moon turned a softer pink color, I took the photo framed by the fall trees underneath as the moon began to uncover.
