Model profile features Pleasant Square

Homebuyers looking for luxury townhouse living will find a gem in Schaumburg - the new Pleasant Square community with two showstopper models that are stunning visitors.

"The Caldwell and The Aldine models have been receiving rave reviews from our customers," said Cheryl Bonk, vice president of sales and marketing for M/I Homes. "The versatility of each plan and our fresh design approach makes the community very attractive to new homebuyers."

Situated on the northwest corner of Roselle and Schaumburg roads, Pleasant Square sits within the Olde Schaumburg Centre Historical District, within walking distance of the library, shopping and services.

Pleasant Square offers three townhouse floor plans with two to four bedrooms, 1½ to 2½ baths and attached two-car garages.

The decorated models feature distinctive interior designs by Mary Cook & Associates in Chicago. Here are highlights of the two models.

The Caldwell

This model is priced from $350,990 and features 2,312 square feet, three bedrooms, 2½ baths and a two-car garage.

This interior shows a modern take on Ralph Lauren with deep, rich oak, charcoal and greens with rubbed gold, teal and chartreuse accents for more of a masculine look.

In the living room, a wood wall serves as a backdrop for the fireplace and gives the space a custom feel. A gray and white shag rug and draperies add a finishing touch.

The kitchen shines with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and gray and white tile backsplash. Lots of cabinets and countertops and a walk-in pantry make life easy for the cook.

A round wood table with upholstered chairs overlooks the balcony while a wine-serving area makes entertaining a breeze.

Upstairs, the loft shows a computer "tech niche," which is good use of the space.

This plan shows two master suites. In one room, a deep tray ceiling with interesting trim detail in the pop up of the ceiling creates drama, while lots of windows brighten the space.

The second master with deep tray ceiling is also impressive with a gray bed cover topped with layers of pillows showing a touch of teal and chartreuse.

Each private bath features raised-height vanities with two sinks and mosaic tile accents.

The lower level is staged as an office with a built-in wall of cabinets.

The Aldine

The Aldine, priced from $300,990, features 1,780 square feet, two bedrooms, 1½ baths and a two-car garage.

With a light, airy interior, this model showcases a berry color with creams and large floral patterns for a fresh vibrant look. You'll see gray washed pieces with inspiration from anthropology and reclaimed woods with a coastal look that a lot of retailers are showing.

The living space showcases a wall of wood cabinetry with shelving while a sofa and several chairs, along with an ottoman, provides plenty of seating.

Outfitted for great entertaining, the kitchen features stainless steel appliances, extra-wide granite-topped peninsula with sink, a rolling island, backsplash and walk-in pantry.

A display of plates and mirrors gets your attention in the dining area while a round table with four upholstered chairs overlooks the outdoors.

In the master bedroom, a crisp white bed cover with berry border is topped with layers of pillows while floral print draperies dress the windows. A reclaimed wood wall adds warmth.

The private master bath features a tub, walk-in shower and raised-height vanity with two sinks.

The third design offered at the community is The Baker, priced from $326,990. It has 2,050 square feet, two bedrooms plus a loft, 2½ baths and a finished lower level with den.
