Carpentersville hosts Oktoberfest, Cyclocross event
The village of Carpentersville invites the community to the annual Oktoberfest and Chicago Cyclocross Cup Race Sunday, Oct. 19, at Carpenter Park, off Maple and Lords avenues.
Championship Cyclocross racing begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at approximately 5 p.m.
The Oktoberfest activities will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Activities include live entertainment, beer garden, food vendors, children's inflatable playground and petting zoo.
The festival is brought to you by the village of Carpentersville, Northern Kane County Chamber of Commerce, and Main Street Bicycles, which has been hosting the event since 2005.

There will be overflow parking east of the park in the school lots off Spring Street to the south, and at Cross Container off Maple Avenue to the north.
The beer garden, located on the northeast side of the course, will feature food options as well. There is $2 I.D. wristband fee for those 21 and older to purchase beverages in the beer garden. Proceeds will go to the FISH Food Pantry.
Bring a canned food item for the local food pantry, and the $2 wrist band fee to purchase adult beverages in the beer garden will be waived.
