Three District 70 Schools Rank In Lake County For Attendance

Three Libertyville School District 70 schools were honored this week for being in the top 10 for the 26th annual Lake County Regional Office of Education Attendance Week competition - with Butterfield School ranking number one in the "Medium Elementary Schools" category.

Copeland Manor School ranked second in the "Small Elementary Schools" category. Meanwhile, Highland Middle School reached the 8th position in the "Large Elementary Schools" category - after nabbing first place for the last three consecutive years.

Staff members and students from each of the three schools attended a special breakfast award ceremony, with students going on stage to accept the awards.

Students who attended included, from Highland Middle School, Brian Greenberg, Ted Stevens, Katie deAcetis and Amanda Gourmet; from Copeland Manor School, Ella Thomson and Stella Bechtold; and from Butterfield School. CJ Zaslavsky and Mack Imm.

Butterfield School reached an attendance rate of 98.37 percent, while Copeland Manor reached a 99.08 percentage rate and Highland Middle School reached a 97.03 percentage rate.

All Lake County elementary schools are eligible to be recognized by the Regional School Superintendent for attendance week, which ran from Sept. 2-4 this year.
