Libertyville's depth sinks Mundelein

Lucy Saucedo raced to a pair of individual wins, and Libertyville's girls swimming team used its depth to defeat host Mundelein 112-74 in North Suburban Conference action Thursday night.

Saucedo won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:03.126, touching out teammate Anne Barnett (2:03.82). Saucedo captured the 500 free in 5:31.25.

Mundelein had seven first-place efforts, including a pair each by Erin Falconer and Jenn Kordik. Falconer took the 200 individual medley (2:11.91) and 50 free (25.17), while Kordik was a winner in the 100 free (54.43) and 100 breaststroke (1:07.19), as she edged out Libertyville's Macey Neubauer (1:07.43) in the latter race.

Mundelein touched first in the 200 free relay with Falconer, Kordik, Aijan Urmat and Rachel Robb (1:40.62). The Mustangs' Maggie Franz won diving (220.70 points). Lauren Blake, Falconer, Robb and Kordik swam the 400 free relay in a winning 3:40.92.

Libertyville opened the meet by easily taking the 200 medley relay with Meredith Robbins, Neubauer, Staci Herchenbach and Emma Richert (1:50.92). The Wildcats also received wins from Harriet Davies in the 100 butterfly (1:00.99) and Jordan Rule in the 100 backstroke (1:02.33).
