A cappella chorus performing Sunday in Arlington Heights

The Northwest Suburban Community Concert Association and Northwest Suburban High School District 214 Community Education are presenting the second concert of their season featuring New Tradition, 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, at Forest View Educational Center Theater, 2121 S. Goebbert Road, Arlington Heights.

Tickets are $20 at the door, or in advance from www.nscommunityconcerts.org or through District 214, (847) 718-7702. Children and youths up to 12th grade are free with a paying adult.

New Tradition, under the direction of Jay Giallombardo, is award-winning and entertaining men's a cappella chorus.

The ensemble has been thrilling audiences with a distinctive combination of superb musicianship and professional presentation since 1982. The group delights audiences with its exciting musical harmony, dazzling choreography and eye-catching costumes.

New Tradition has won 19 medals in the Barbershop Harmony Society's International Chorus Contest, including a streak of eight silver medals followed by a gold medal in 2001 that remains unrivaled.

The 2014-2015 concert season also will feature the Northern Illinois Steel Band on Sunday, Nov. 9; Lakeside Singers on Sunday, Feb. 22; June's Got the Cash - A Tribute to Johnny Cash and June Carter, on Sunday, April 19.
