Night life: Grand opening for new Scorched Earth

Check out the new Scorched Earth Brewing Company, take a tour and more at a grand opening party 3 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18. The party will be held outside at the brewery and will include music and kids activities. Entrance is $5 for guests 18 and over; beer is $5 per pint and food is available. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Family Health Partnership Clinic and the Women in McHenry's Scholarship Fund.

October at Spears'
Throughout October, Spears' drink specials are $2 Miller Lites and $4 Jack Daniels cocktails on Mondays, $2 Bud Lites on Tuesdays, half-priced martinis and half-priced bottles of wine on Wednesdays, $6 Grey Goose Moscow mules on Thursdays and $1 Pabst Blue Ribbons on Sundays.
