Warrenville Park District Scares Up Fun at Annual Fest Oct. 24

The Warrenville Park District is gearing up for a howling good time with its 11th annual Fall Family Fun Fest from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24 at the Recreation Center, 3S260 Warren Ave. This event is a great way for families to enjoy the season in a safe environment and features a fantastic lineup of activities for all ages. Plenty of free parking is available.

Fall Family Fun Fest kicks off with a costume parade for little ghosts and goblins around the Recreation Center track overlooking the gym starting at 5:45. A costume contest follows the parade at 6 p.m. and winners in different age levels receive prizes.

Storytelling with Chris Fascione runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., and Measner Magic Show dazzles audiences of all ages from 7 to 7:45 p.m. in the gym.

Kids love the two large inflatables, an Atlantis Jump geared for little ones and a three-section obstacle course with a slide, climbing wall, and jump areas. Kids of all ages are winners with loads of candy and prizes at the carnival games, and the event once again features the Spooktacular Room where fall crafts are concocted - always a big hit with the kids! There is no entrance fee for the storytelling and magic show. Participants can purchase $5 wristbands, good for unlimited play in all games areas, the Spooktacular Room, and one ticket for the cake/sweets walk.

Mike Knauf and German Band returns to the Fall Family Fun Fest under the Big Top Tent. The concession area grill offers brats and hot dogs, along with chips and beverages, for families to eat outside under the stars or in the tent while enjoying German music.

NorthStar Credit Union provides the event's sweet spot with free caramel apples and toppings. Family Foods of Warrenville hosts a cake walk throughout the evening for $1 per ticket.

The event is co-sponsored by the Warrenville Park District, the City of Warrenville hotel/motel tax fund, NorthStar Credit Union, Cadence Health, and Family Foods of Warrenville.
