Crystal Lake man charged with shooting gun inside home
A Crystal Lake man was arrested Sunday and charged with discharging a firearm and threatening another resident inside their home, police said.
Samuel D. Twinam, 48, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, reckless discharge of a firearm, domestic battery, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of firearm ammunition.
Crystal Lake police said they responded Sunday evening to a home on the 200 block of Sunset Terrace after they received a report of a report of a domestic violence incident.
The victim told police Twinam held a gun to the victim's head and threatened to shoot, authorities said. Twinam peacefully surrendered about an hour later, police added. After he surrendered, officers found that he had discharged the gun inside the home, striking a wall.
Twinam is being held at the McHenry County jail; his bail is set at $60,000.
