Munger is strong advocate for children

On October 2, I received a very disturbing voice-mail message from the office of our Democratic state representative, Carol Sente.

The message began "Leslie Munger wants to allow pedophiles in our schools".

Leslie Munger is running as the Republican candidate for Illinois state representative in the 59th District.

Leslie Munger has been a resident of Lincolnshire for 20 years, and many of us know her through various volunteer efforts in our community, including our schools and Riverside Foundation. She is a loving mother of two sons and has decided to take her commitment to service one step further by running for office.

It takes unbelievable courage to put yourself out there and run against an incumbent in a state like Illinois. She knew there would be mudslinging, but for Sente's campaign to leave such a message on her constituents' voice mail goes way too far.

A mother and ardent champion of the developmentally disabled like Leslie would never want a pedophile anywhere near a school.

Please take a moment and visit the Leslie Munger for State Representative Facebook page. Leslie clearly states she supports background checks for teachers, coaches, other school workers in contact with children.

I will definitely be voting for Leslie Munger for state representative to bring a new, honest voice and much-needed change to Springfield.
