Radtke, Stevenson in fine form at Glenbrook North

Jori Radtke was nearly unstoppable for Stevenson's girls volleyball team in the Glenbrook North tournament.

The Patriots wrapped up play by outlasting Morton 30-32, 25-14, 25-19, as Radtke slammed 14 kills for the third time in four matches. She also had 14-kill efforts against Glenbrook North and Glenbrook North's JV. Stevenson (18-13) won its final two matches, including a 25-23, 26-24 decision over Buffalo Grove. Radtke's 7 kills led the way against the Bison.

The Morton match also saw Isabella Milejczyk and Corissa Kurth deliver 8 and 6 kills, respectively, for Stevenson. Morgan Berland served 7 aces and chalked up 17 digs. Kurth dished out 34 assists. Against Buffalo Grove, Radtke also had 4 aces, while Berland again registered 17 digs.

Milejczyk pounded 11 kills, and Jen Lichtenstein had 6 kills and 3 aces in a 14-25, 25-19, 17-16 loss to Maine West.

At Antioch: Lakes won its last three matches to place fifth in the Elaine Lonergan Memorial Tournament. The Eagles lost to Crystal Lake Central (25-16, 25-18) and Zion-Benton (25-23, 9-25, 15-13) before beating Lake Zurich JV (25-4, 25-8), Rolling Meadows (25-13, 25-4) and Shoreland Lutheran (25-9, 25-19).

McKenna Lahr had 39 kills, 27 digs and 12 aces for Lakes (27-6), while Megan Behrendt rang up 37 kills and 38 digs. Eagles setter Maddie Demo dished out 80 assists, while other contributors included Izzy Huntington (13 kills, 28 digs, 13 aces), Katie Billetdeaux (12 kills, 8 blocks) and Allie Grandos (8 kills, 12 blocks).

Crystal Lake Central defeated Lake Forest 25-13, 25-14 for the championship. Lake Forest (4-1 tourney) placed Jenna Dethlefsen (36 kills, 4 blocks), Meghan McGrail (27 kills) and Claire Torkelsen (19 kills, 8 blocks, 2 aces) on the all-tournament team.

At Oswego: Vernon Hills lost four of its five matches, dropping the Cougars' record to 8-18.
