Boys soccer: Fox Valley roundup Saturday, Oct. 11

If Saturday's nonconference game between Larkin and Dundee-Crown is any indication of what's to come, it should be an entertaining regional semifinal at Streamwood in a couple weeks.

The Royals scored twice in the first half which held up for the 2-1 win over the Chargers (12-7-1) in Carpentersville.

Erick Paniagua and Chris Plantz registered goals for Larkin (6-9-4) while Luis Rodriguez scored D-C's only goal off an assist from Hoff Campbell in the second half.

Larkin's Leo Perez and Leo Martinez (3 saves) split time in goal while Jose Gonzalez stopped 11 shots for the Chargers.

CL South 2, Glenbrook North 1: The Gators did all their damage in the first half as Orlando Tapia and Kennan Grissom scored goals for a nonconference win. Andrew Grabowski and Jeff Kirshenbaum each had 1 assist and keeper Dalton Kause made 3 saves to up South's record to 14-5-1.

Huntley 0, Elgin 0: The Maroons (6-11-2) and the Red Raiders (5-11-5) were stingy to say the least in nonconference action at Memorial Field. Elgin goalie Edgar Rodriguez collected 11 saves while Andrew Fulcer (5 saves) and Michael Parks (2 saves) split time in net for Huntley.

St. Charles East 3, Streamwood 2: Alan Camarena tallied his 20th goal of the season while Donnie Sosa delivered off a Blerim Shobini assist but the Saints were too much in Upstate Eight River action at Millennium Field. Keeper Sergio Blanco made 5 saves in the loss for Streamwood (11-5-2, 2-3-2).

Schaumburg 1, Bartlett 0: The Hawks (5-13) dropped a nonconference game to the Saxons as Brian Hollatz had 2 saves in the first half and Jake Hasenstein managed 8 in the second half.

Harvest 11, Berean 0 (Friday's late result): Harvest Christian ended the regular season on a positive note with an overwhelming victory to tie their school record 10th win. The Lions (10-3-3) received 2 goals from Basilio Salazar and Raphael DeSouza whereas Alessandro D'Argento and Sergio Velazquez garnered 1 goal and 2 assists each. Cesar Velazquez and Antonio Neverez put forth 1 goal and 1 assist while Austin White, Andrew Cojocarescu and Sam Serrato each put in 1 goal. J.T. Frantz dished 2 assists and Noah Fox didn't see anything in 70 minutes as keeper but DeSouza made 1 save in limited time.
