Soloist Athena to perform Oct. 11 at the Listening Room

On Saturday, Oct. 11, the Listening Room is proud to present up-and-coming solo artist Athena at 8 p.m. Her debut album strings together an authentic county soulfulness with a southern rock and Americana influence. It visits heartache, divorce, time lost, the road to sobriety, and ultimately, finding love for one's authentic self.

Hearing Athena's sincere message and true emotion in her vocals, Santiago Torano, along with Ed Cherney (Grammy award winning producer and engineer) brought together some of the most sought after players in the business. What has happened with the musical collaboration is truly magical and is shared every time Athena uses her rich voice. Athena's body of work, much like the meaning of her name, was created out of personal wisdom and emotional warfare that she has grown from. As a young girl, born and raised on a farm under the big sky in the Pacific Northwest, singing country became her church, her altar … her place to feel her feelings and express her sensitive heart as she followed the golden thread of music.
