Police investigate armed robbery of Schaumburg gas station

Schaumburg police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at 9:09 p.m. Wednesday at the Citgo gas station at 1600 W. Wise Road.

The clerk, who the only person in the station and was not injured, reported that two men entered at that time.

One of the men displayed a small black handgun and demanded cash and lottery tickets. Both men then fled with a small amount of cash and an unknown number of lottery tickets.

The man with the gun was described as black, 5 feet 3 inches tall, 150 pounds, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a yellow ski mask and black leather gloves. The second man was described as black, 5 feet 6 inches tall and 150 pounds, but had no clothing description.

Schaumburg police Sgt. John Nebl said the robbery does not resembles any other recent crimes in the village or surrounding area.
