Dining events: Bonefish pairs wine with specialties

Crushin' on Bonefish

Bonefish Grill celebrates the wine crush with new dishes and suggested wine pairings. Through Nov. 17, try the Vintner's Burger, a wood-grilled American Kobe patty with caramelized onions, Danish blue cheese and red wine jam ($14.70) paired with Doña Paula Estate Cabernet Sauvignon. The wood-grilled swordfish over pumpkin ravioli and topped with feta cheese, crispy sage and shallot brown butter ($20.40) goes nicely with Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc.

Bonefish Grill has locations in Algonquin, Schaumburg, Skokie and Orland Park. bonefishgrill.com.

Oakbrook Hilton sweet on bees, honey cuisine

Hilton Chicago's Oakbrook Hills Resort and Conference Center recently brought Sean Patrick Curry on board as executive chef, and Curry has big plans to further his modern farm cuisine aspirations with 10-plus beehives throughout the hotel's 150 acres. The bees will pollinate a chef's garden and provide more than 200 pounds of honey per hive.

Fresh vending options

Some Marriott hotels now offer locally grown, organic, healthy vending machine snacks and meals through Farmer's Fridge. Made fresh and stocked each morning, items cost $3 to $12 and include salads, Greek yogurt and berries and lemon-pepper chicken made with antibiotic-free chicken breasts, lemon juice, extra-virgin olive oil, salt and pepper.
