Alzheimer's Association walk Sunday

An Alzheimer's Association walk to help end the disease is set for Sunday, Oct. 12, at Independence Grove Forest Preserve near Libertyville.

At least 700 participants from the Lake County area are expected at the walk to raise awareness and funds for the fight against Alzheimer's. Registration will be at 8 a.m., followed by a ceremony at 9:30 a.m. and the 5K walk at 10 a.m.

Participants will learn more about Alzheimer's disease, advocacy opportunities, clinical trial enrollment, and the support programs and services of the Alzheimer's Association. Each walker also will join in a meaningful tribute ceremony to honor those affected by the disease.

To start or join a team before Sunday, check alz.org/walk or call (847) 933-2413.
