Festive Auction and Taste Planned by Northbrook Chamber at the Renaissance Hotel

The Northbrook Chamber of Commerce's 21st annual Auction and Taste, a spectacular event featuring a Silent and Live Auction along with a "taste" of 18 of the finest North Shore restaurants, will be held on Monday, October 27th from 5:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at the Renaissance Chicago North Shore Hotel, 933 Skokie Boulevard. With a festive fall setting as a backdrop, the lively evening will include a chance to bid on valuable items donated by area businesses, along with a sumptuous tasting buffet. More than 400 area businesses and civic leaders are expected to attend.

A highlight of the night will be the Live Auction, conducted by local legend Ron Bernardi, who will field competitive bids for a complete Lasik eye surgery package, a White Sox Diamond Suite package, a $500 Northbrook Court shopping spree, and tickets to a Chicago Blackhawks hockey game. The Silent Auction will feature gift baskets, restaurant certificates, hotel packages, household items, concert tickets, and sports and fitness club memberships. In addition to an opportunity to bid on these and other valuable items, there will also be a raffle with a chance to win $1000.

While bidding on the many items, attendees will enjoy samples of menu specialties from some of the finest area restaurants, featuring everything from juicy beef tenderloin cooked to perfection, to the finest seafood, to international specialties. A few of the restaurants are Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, The Claim Company, Di Pescara, Francesca's North, Maggiano's, Allgauer's, and P.F. Chang's China Bistro.

Sponsored by Allstate Insurance Company, the event is open to the public (adults only). Admission is $25 in advance and $35 at the door and includes the tasting buffet, complimentary beer, wine and soft drinks. Raffle tickets cost $5 apiece or 5 for $20; winners need not be present to win. Funds raised from the event are used by the Chamber to provide programs and services for the community and promote area businesses.
