Storm damages some homes in northeastern Indiana

HUNTINGTON, Ind. - Officials say a storm damaged several homes in northeastern Indiana a weather front moved across the state.

The Huntington County emergency management director Lindsie Goss tells WANE-TV at least 15 homes and two businesses around the city of Huntington were damaged in Tuesday evening's storm.

Goss says dozens of trees were uprooted and knocked down by strong winds in the area about 20 miles southwest of Fort Wayne.

The National Weather Service says a possible tornado was reported Tuesday evening in a rural area of central Indiana's Putnam County about 30 miles west of Indianapolis. It moved through farm fields and no building damage was immediately reported.
