Arlington Heights Fire Department to host open house Oct. 11

The Arlington Heights Fire Department Open House will be from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11, at Fire Station One, 300 E. Sigwalt St., in downtown Arlington Heights.

Parking is available at the village municipal garage.

The event recognizes Fire Prevention Week, which is Oct. 5-11. "Working Smoke Alarms Save Lives - Test Yours Every Month!" is this year's fire prevention campaign which is designed to educate people about the need for smoke alarms in good order.

The Fire Department Open House will include the Fire Safety Trailer, equipment and informational displays, demonstrations, tours of the fire station, and Sparky the Fire Dog. This is your chance to get a close-up view of the work firefighters do, the equipment they use and the place they stay while on duty protecting the residents of Arlington Heights.
