The Peoples' Bank to Publish Fourth Book in Veteran's Series

The Peoples' Bank of Arlington Heights is looking for local men and women who served in the Gulf, Afghanistan and Iraq Wars and who are willing to be interviewed for an upcoming book on veterans' experiences in those conflicts. Participants will be interviewed by a student from Saint Viator High School who will then write a chapter for a new book that the bank will publish in the spring of 2015.

This will be the fourth in a series of books written by Saint Viator students and published by the bank. Previous editions, completed on a bi-annual basis have covered veterans from World War II, the Korean War, and Vietnam.

"We are committed to honoring veterans from this area and are proud of the publications we have produced to date," said Peoples' Bank President Frank Appleby. "We know there are a number of men and women from this area who served in these recent wars and as always we hope that by pairing them with local students there is benefit to all involved."

The bank is working with local veterans groups to locate veterans who live in the Arlington Heights area and who would be willing to spend some time with a student writer to share their experience. Interested individuals can contact Jim Mitchell at 847-749-1096 or jim.mitchell2@comcast.net to volunteer to serve as a subject for the book.

As in the past, juniors and seniors from Saint Viator High School will also volunteer to be involved. The students will arrange a meeting with their assigned subject, conduct one or more interviews, then write a chapter for the book telling the story of their subject. "Being a part of these books has been a very meaningful experience for our students in the past, and we welcome the opportunity to learn about and share the stories of these men and women who served our country in difficult times," said Saint Viator President Rev. Corey Brost, C.S.V. "This provides a unique educational and life experience to our students and provides a bridge between generations as they learn about experiences that most will never encounter."

The book will be published in spring of 2015 and will be available at The Peoples' Bank of Arlington Heights locations at 41 South Vail Avenue and 1104 South Arlington Heights Road. For more information on The Peoples' Bank, visit www.peoplesbanc.com.
