Chairman of Trust Company of Illinois receives ATO Lifetime Achievement Award

Oct. 2, 2014 - Downers Grove, IL - Gregory W. Osko, chairman of Trust Company of Illinois in Downers Grove, was honored with the Association of Trust Organizations (ATO) Lifetime Achievement Award at its annual meeting on Sept. 29 in Las Colinas, Texas.

The E. Deane Kanaly Lifetime Achievement Award is ATO's highest honor, recognizing individuals with an exemplary record of sustained achievement in the trust industry who have exhibited outstanding leadership, both in their own companies and within the trust community.

"Greg has been a loyal member of the association for 20 years, giving generously of his time and experience," stated Stephen B. Payne Jr., chairman of Heritage Trust Company and ATO event chair. "He has demonstrated the same passion for growing our industry that he has exhibited at Trust Company of Illinois. His transparency and integrity have helped start ups and emerging trust companies establish business models that work today and are sustainable into the future."

Osko founded Trust Company of Illinois in 1993 with the vision of becoming the most respected and trusted financial advisory firm in the Chicago area. His unfaltering vision has taken TCI from a startup to a nationally respected organization with $1.4 billion is assets under management.

"No one is more deserving of this award than Greg Osko," commented Debra L. Gregorash, CFO of TCI. " His distinguished career and contributions to the trust industry have made a lasting impact on Chicago's business landscape that will be valued far into the future. I am delighted ATO has recognized his contributions."

Osko started his career at Continental Bank where he first discovered his passion for helping local business owners and professionals achieve their financial and personal goals. He spent the last 20 years of his professional career building Trust Company of Illinois after leaving Gary-Wheaton Bank in 1993.

He has served on the boards of various nonprofit organizations, including Outreach Community Ministries and Northwestern Memorial Health Care (formerly Cadence Health), where he presently serves on the Finance Committee and chairs the Investment Committee. For many years, he also chaired the board of Marklund Home for Children and the Diecke Center for Visual Rehabilitation (now Spectrios Institute for Low Vision).

Osko earned his undergraduate degree at University of Iowa, followed by an MBA from Loyola University, with a concentration in finance and portfolio management.

The first recipient of ATO's Lifetime Award was given to the late E. Deane Kanaly of Kanaly Trust in 2012. Tom Blank of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP was the 2013 honoree.
