Palatine nets victory at Stevenson

Palatine's girls volleyball team traveled to Lincolnshire to start the week on Monday night and came away with a 25-20, 13-25, 25-22 victory over Stevenson in nonconference play.

The Pirates (17-7) were led on attack by senior Jess Lundell (8 kills), senior Meg Angelaccio (6), sophomore Claire Chaplinsky (5) and junior Heather Holz (5) as they got their cues from sophomore Sydney Christiansen, who finished with 23 assists in the nonconference match.

Holz (3.3 blocks) and Angelaccio also served a pair of aces while Angelaccio (12 digs), sophomore Alyssa Kronberg (9 digs) and junior Serna (5 digs) paced the back row. Chaplinsky added 3 blocks.

Jori Radtke collected a match-high 16 kills for Stevenson

(15-5).

Wheeling d. Deerfield: Domenica Montesino (8 kills), Timber Terrell (7 kills), Deanna Kuzmanic (6 kills), Michaela Vasey (5 kills) and Sarah Fruscione (5 kills) led the attack for visiting Wheeling (10-11) in a 25-21, 23-25, 25-22 nonconference victory.

Wildcats setter Sabrina Semeria handed out 21 assists while teammate Alexa Laureano had 27 digs.

Conant d. Westminster Christian: The host Cougars improved to 9-13 with a 25-5, 25-17 victory in Hoffman Estates as senior DeeDee Durr put down 4 kills and served 4 aces.

Other top attackers for Conant were Rachel Delanois (4 kills, 4 digs) and Joniece Jones (3 kills).

Elisa Ambrose (6 assists) and Victoria Dereszkiewicz (5 assists) set the Cougars' attack while teammate Dhara Patel sparked the back row with 12 digs.
