District 50 candidate petitions:

Nominating petitions are available for three seats on the Woodland Elementary District 50 school board that will be filled at the April 7 election. Candidates elected will serve four-year terms expiring in April 2019. Forms may be picked up in the office of the board secretary at 1105 N. Hunt Club Road, Gurnee, on any business day between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. To be eligible to serve, a school board member must be, on the date of election, a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old, a resident of the state of Illinois and the school district for at least one year immediately preceding the election, a registered voter, neither a school trustee nor a school treasurer, and not be a child sex offender as defined in state law. A candidate's petition must be filed in the office of the Lake County Clerk, 18 N. County St., Waukegan, between 8:30 a.m., Monday, Dec. 15, and 5 p.m., Monday, Dec. 22.
