Prospect second at Peoria Central Invite

Boys cross country

Prospect senior Michael Anderson (15:14) took 15th place in helping push the Knights' boys cross country team to a second-place finish with 181 points in the Peoria Central Invite at Detweiller Park.

Hoffman Estates junior duo Bryan Gamboa (15:21) and Matt Petersen (15:22) helped to pace the Hawks to a third-place finish with 185 points.

Sandburg placed five runners in the top nine in cruising to the team title with 31 points.

McHenry senior Jessie Reiser took first individually, crossing the line in 14:39, with Huntley's Keegan Smith (14:46) taking second.

Anderson propelled Prospect's attack, but they displayed a tight chase pack with Alex Heyde (33rd place), Karson LeConte (36 place), Matt Cozine (45 place), and Max Crowinshield (52 place) aiding the Knights.

Shiv Patel aided Hoffman Estates finished in 32nd place to aid the Hawks.
