Attend rare open house at Fox Valley Wildlife Center

Fox Valley Wildlife Center in Elburn Forest Preserve at 45W061 Route 38 is opening its doors for the annual open house from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5. Fox Valley Wildlife is a licensed wildlife hospital and unable to allow visitors during the busy spring and summer months.

Visitors would cause stress for the wildlife patients in our care. Only once a year the doors of the wildlife center are opened for people to visit and see just what goes on there on a day-to-day basis. The tours are self guided with volunteers available to answer questions. There is also a Pie Walk, Bake Sale, Treasure Hunt, games and photo ops with a red tailed hawk, Zihna.

Kane County Mounted Police will be present to answer questions and for photos and Midwest Museum of Natural History will bring some education reptile ambassadors.

Fox Valley Wildlife Center is a volunteer 501(c)(3) corporation receiving no federal, state or local funding, existing through the donations of the public.
