Learn about spiders:

Frank Pascoe will discuss the amazing world of spider watching at the Lake County Audubon Society's meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, at the Libertyville village hall, 118 W. Cook Ave. The 90-minute program will explore types of spider webs and habitat, common spider families and species, and spider behavior with an emphasis on jumping spiders. Ongoing research projects with undergraduates at the University of St. Francis, including the impact of prescribed burns on spiders and spider reproductive strategies, will be included. Pascoe is provost and professor of biology at the University of St. Francis in Joliet and has studied the spiders of the Chicago region since 1996.
